About Me
My name is Jess Hale. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in the state of Washington.
Originally from western Massachusetts, I began my undergraduate study of Applied Behavior Analysis at Westfield State University in Westfield, Mass. After graduating with a bachelors degree in Psychology in 2016, I moved to Washington, where I began working as a Registered Behavior Technician providing direct therapy services to young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. After a few years as an RBT, I finally plucked up the courage to get my masters degree and completed a graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis through Western Connecticut State University.
I have worked as a BCBA in two different clinics, and through that experience, I became disillusioned with the way that ABA is commonly practiced. Seeking to create a new way of practicing ABA which aligned more closely with my passions and my values, I created Enterprise Behavior Analysis. It is my hope that this space can continue to grow and evolve into something very special.
My Specialties
In my practice of ABA, I have developed some areas of specialization. These include:
feeding therapy (teaching “picky” eaters to accept new foods using gentle, assent-based techniques)
developing early communication skills for non-verbal children through speech, sign, and/or picture-based communication
reduction of problem behaviors in children such as frequent meltdowns, aggression, self-injury, elopement, and mouthing using function-based interventions and teaching appropriate replacement skills
decreasing avoidance behavior and anxiety associated with phobias
The bulk of my experience thus far has been with young children on the autism spectrum. However, I am very eager to explore working with adults, particularly those with food selectivity challenges and/or phobias. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
